About Mahatma Gandhi-
1) Gandhiji was born on 2 October 1869 at Porbandar in Gujarat in a Vaishnav family2) His full name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
3) His father Karamchand Gandhi was Diwan at Porbandar and his mother Putlibai was a religious woman
4) His early education was started at home and he used to read Gita everyday
5) He went to England for higher education their head youth Bible and enjoy the company of Annie Besant
6) He called Geeta Mata and follow its values
7) Is philosophy is called as Gandhism or sarvodaya Darshan
Concept of education-
1) Our father of nation was not only a political leader but also a educational reformer2) He gave many suggestions in education related to book is education and theoretical education
3) He doesn't consider only literary education but also consider education to develop one's body mind and spirit
4) According to Gandhiji -by education I mean done drawing out of the best from child and man's body mind and spirit
5) He says education should not only told about reading writing and counting but it also does about to develop body mind and spirit
Aims of education-
- He told that the ultimate aim of human life is emancipation (Mukti)- Firstly come physically emancipation then mental emancipation then economic emancipation and at last spiritual emancipation -he says if man is not free from physical mental and economic slavery then he cannot get spiritual emancipation

BASIC EDUCATION-
1) Gandhiji told that the education that is given by English man has just two AIMS-to preparing clerks to help them in the administrative process -creating such men that are Indian by body but are English by heart
2) The education that was given was in English and was very expensive it was only affordable by rich man
3) With the freedom movement Gandhiji was also working on the educational reforms
4) In 1937 self government was formed in all states and Congress came in power in 7 out of 11 States
5) After that Gandhiji presented draught of education known as basic education
Draft of basic education
1) Free and compulsory education should be provided from age of 7 to 14 years2) The education should be provided in mother tongue
3) The education should provide some handicraft knowledge
4) This handicraft should be based on Children's ability
5) This articles made by children's should be utilised to make profit and 20 profit should be used to meet after school expenses
6) Handicraft enable students to earn their livelihood

Curriculum of basic education-
For the attainment of aims of physical education there is necessary to have some curriculum1) Handicrafts(spinning , weaving, gardening, leather factory etc)

3) Social subjects(history, geography, political science, etc)
4) General science(chemistry, botany, Zoology etc)
5) Music
6) Literature
7) Drawing
8) Hygiene
